Hi, and welcome to Charlotte’s Web! My name is Charlotte Bumstead, but I am known to most as Carly. I started this blog as an outlet to write about my adventures as an aspiring writer. And now, I blog to share my experiences– from hurdles to triumphs– in the professional writing field.
Charlotte’s Web began in 2010, the summer after I graduated from York University in Toronto, with a B.A. in Professional Writing. I am passionate about writing and communications, and I take pride in spreading knowledge on newsworthy topics and inspiring others toward a rewarding lifestyle. For as long as I can remember, I have been focusing on how to transform my love of writing into a career.
I have written articles published in national magazines and newspapers, including Zoomer, The Globe and Mail, Channel Insider Canada, IT in Canada, and IT World Canada. I also blog for a wide-range of businesses and organizations. (Visit the HIRE ME tab to find out more).
I currently work as Senior Content Manager for a social media startup called BrightBlueWave, where I help businesses build their brands online through developing web content and social media strategies.
With years of experience as a freelance writer, I decided to begin blogging about my writing endeavours. Ergo, Charlotte’s Web was launched. I created Charlotte’s Web with an aim to express thoughts and concerns in the everyday life of a writer in her twenties. The idea with my blog is to stay honest and personal, and I hope my readers can find something relevant to their own life journey. I’ve divided my blog into four categories: Lifestyle, In The News, Writing Tips and Creative Works. Please explore and feel free to get in on the discussion by leaving your comments. Thanks for following along!
